Humanist Ceremonies, Outdoor Ceremonies & Blessings
A Humanist Wedding is perfect for the couple who are not religious and looking for more freedom and flexibility for their wedding ceremony. The possibilities are limitless and you have the opportunity to hold a ceremony that means something more significant to you. Outdoor Ceremonies have become more and more popular in the UK and are perfect for the alternative couple looking for something more personal to them.
Humanist weddings are not seen as legally binding within the UK and Wales so couples will generally have a small ceremony with a registrar to legalise the wedding, which is seen as the ‘paper work’. The main Humanist ceremony is then seen as the actual wedding and is where the couple will invite family and friends to celebrate their day. However, in Scotland, Humanist ceremonies became legal in 2005 and they are now the fifth most popular way to get married there. So, if you don’t want to get married in a church, or be tied to the legal constraints of a licensed building, then a humanist ceremony or outdoor wedding is perfect for you.
Humanist weddings can be a lot more personal - the location can be somewhere very special to you; a beach; a cliff top; a forest; boat; castle; even your own house or garden. The possibilities are endless. You can choose your own reading and songs, and the ceremony can be long, short, formal or informal depending on what you want.
Boho loves Humanist and outdoor ceremonies as they really do give you complete freedom to marry where and when you want, in a style that suits your personality. I am happy to work with you on any ideas you have, and to help assist you with the legal requirements of the registrar.
